McCormick’s Salt Free & Low Sodium Seasoning

The people at McCormick’s seem to be getting on board with sodium free and low sodium seasoning. They knocked it out of the park with their Perfect Pinch Salt Free Garlic & Herb is hands down one of my favorite low sodium seasoning in my pantry today. Their other Perfect Pinch Salt Free Spices rock as well. The Fiesta Citrus, Southwest, and Original blends are also mainstays in my spice rack.

McCormick’s Sriracha Black Pepper Low Sodium Seasoning: The Review

I was browsing the spice aisle at my local grocer and was excited to see this Sriracha Black Pepper Blend. I mean who doesn’t like Sriracha and black pepper? Right? While it is NOT salt free, it is only 20 mg per 1/4 teaspoon. This pepper blend has a full peppery flavor, paired with a tangy heat that is spicy enough to taste great without overpowering with the heat.

I have tried it on fish, chicken, eggs, pork, and turkey. It really provides a nice level of flavor to the point you won’t miss out on any salt. Building a solid pantry and spice rack is a key to success on your low sodium journey. When you have the solid tools to be able to prepare food with great flavors and without salt, you will find more success.

One cool thing I learned, is that once I had eliminated the salt in the spices and seasonings, the only sodium left was what was naturally in the foods I was cooking. With the sodium counts lowered, I could broaden the choices and options of proteins I could cook. This made me happier, knowing I had choices instead of being limited or denying myself certain items.
