My Low Sodium Diet Plan and Cookbook Has Arrived
It is one of the best things that the postman has ever delivered to my house. My advance Author Copies of my new Low Sodium Diet Plan and Cookbook is here! If you can briefly indulge me for a moment, to me, this is quite an exciting event. It is my first published cookbook! My name is right there on the cover! This is so cool!
Why Did I Write A Low Sodium Diet Plan and Cookbook?
This all started simply from the fact that I wanted to share the tips, products, recipes, and knowledge I had learned. I’ve been on this low sodium journey since 2002, so I’ve learned quite a few things. I want and need to share all of this information, and it made sense to do it with a blog.
A blog is an awesome way to share all of this information digitally where I can also share it to Facebook and Twitter, etc., but not everyone who needs to go low sodium is online. It became apparent that a cookbook would be valuable as well. In the summer of 2016, out of the blue, a publisher reached out to me via email. They wanted to work on a cookbook with me. So it began.
The Process So Far
I started writing the book last October. The first part of the book is all about the basics of beginning a low sodium diet. Things like how to read nutrition labels, medical reasons for reducing sodium, what to buy, where to find hidden salt, and so much more.
In January, we hit a bit of a road bump. Due to an infection, my heart went into acute rejection, and I was in a coma and recovery for all of January and half of February. You can read all about that part of the journey here. From February through through the end of March, I finished the book with the assistance of my wife and a great friend. I have been working from my Hospital room since I am still here waiting for a donor heart.
Prepping for the Book Launch
The book is already on pre-sale here. It is on Amazon, and on July 18th, 2017, it will be available wherever books are sold. We are still trying to figure out how to do autographs for those of you who aren’t local. I will update when we do have an answer. Other than that, I will answer any questions about the book if you want to ask in the comments below. I’m very proud of it and hope you will find it useful!
